freeTHOUGHT 3/16 “Kings”
Sunday TV drama is always worth an entire weeks worth of waiting. From HBO to CBS it seems that the highest quality shows are saved for the sunday evening time slot. It wasn’t until middle of last week that i learned the new Series “Kings” was actually a modern take on the biblical story of King David. Though i had some reservations I was delightfully pleased with the premiere last night. NBC understandably took some liberties with the story, but overall the show turned out really good. Standout performances include Ian McShane as King Silas (aka Saul), and “the Reverend” (Samuel) played by some unknown guy.
According to initial ratings tallies the premiere did terrible, only pulling in 6 million viewers. According to IMDB they have filmed 13 episodes, so, I hope it does well enough to at least get through the first season. I hope anyone who reads this will give this show a chance, because i think it has great potential.
Sunday night DVR list currently includes: Big Love, Flight of the Conchords, Extreme Makeover, desperate housewives, Amazing Race, Celebrity Apprentice, and now Kings…i know…i know, my wife and I have a problem
