the conservatives have spoken…and they’re not conservative anymore!
In the aftermath of Super Tuesday we are seeing some pretty interesting developments. First, Clinton just announced that she has been personally funding her campaign (which does not bode well for her in the future). Second, Obama raised a record breaking 7.2 million in only one day after super Tuesday. Third, the right wing conservatives are whining and pouting because McCain is getting the majority of votes around the country from supposed republican voters.
I have blogged much about the democrats in the past, so today I want to focus on the republicans. The first party I registered for was the republican party, and I was eager to work on the Bush campaign in 2000. Needless to say I have found the error in my ways and have evolved since then.
As many of you know I am a political junky and I have really enjoyed watching the ultra conservative republicans bitch and moan on how the voters have left their “candidates” in the dust. I love that the moderate voice has taken the party back from the ultra right wing extremists. I find it amusing that some right wing commentators and politicians are saying they rather vote for Hillary than McCain, (Seriously, this is being said). Wow, does that sound immature or what? That response reminds me of something I’d hear in a fight between a couple of second graders.
Anyway, the right wing extremists had 8 years to run DC and they have completely screwed everything up, and everyone knows this (Ask yourself, are you better off than you were in the 90’s). In the last months, this faction (including the scourge of the earth, AM Radio) has tried to distance themselves from the Bush administration, and well it hasn’t worked. I am glad the republicans are taking their party back from the right wing, am radio listening, evangelical faction. They had their chance to shine and didn’t, because they chose to start another viet nam and run this country into the largest deficit in history, hey but at least their friends got rich and oh, global warming’s a lie.
In conclusion, I am pleased to say the majority of republicans have spoken, and they aren’t conservative anymore! I hope McCain asks Lieberman to be his VP so he’ll piss off the right wing even more.
